Darel & LaVerna Leipold Bench Dedication

Join us during Apple Days for a special dedication ceremony honoring LaVerna and Darel Leipold and their lasting contributions to the Excelsior community. For generations, the Leipolds have given so much to Excelsior, helping shape our community and playing an important role in making Apple Days the beloved tradition it is today. A memorial bench will be placed outside Leipold’s on Water Street in loving memory of LaVerna and in appreciation of Darel. The bench features a custom bronze plaque and will provide a lasting place for community members to gather and remember the Leipold legacy. We invite friends, neighbors, and community members to join us for this special dedication as we celebrate LaVerna and Darel and all they have given to Excelsior! If you would like to contribute toward the memorial bench, donations are still welcome. Any funds raised beyond those needed for the bench will go toward helping revive the Golden Apple Scavenger Hunt, a tradition that was near and dear to Darel’s heart.
