Cultivating Community: Seed & Garden Event

Prepare for the gardening season and join fellow plant enthusiasts at our Community Seed & Garden Event, hosted at Boom Island Brewing on Sunday, March 16th, from 12pm-4pm!

Discover and take home new veggie, plant, and flower seeds at the community seed swap, shop for gardening and related products to prep for the warm seasons, and chat with gardening pros from Hennepin County Master Gardeners about all things growing. No seeds to bring? No problem! All are welcome to participate in the community seed swapping, whether you have your own seeds to contribute or not. This will be a great event for both beginners just starting to germinate and experienced harvesters into successive sowing …and everyone in between!

If you would like to bring seeds for swapping, here are some helpful tips for preparing your seed offerings:

• If you have a large amount of seeds, dividing into smaller portions using baggies/packets/envelopes is helpful to share with more people easier. The seed baggies/packets will be set out on tables for people to swap or pick up independently.
• If they aren’t already, please label on each seed bag/packet what type of seeds they are.
• If you have special growing instructions for specific seed types, those are helpful to include on/with the baggies, but not necessary. These can be typed or written by hand. Any tips for successful growing are great!

This event is free to attend, so grab a delicious craft beer, root around the seed swap, and get ready to sow like a pro!
