SUMMARY:Ask the Expert: Using Golf to Have More Purposeful Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Ask the Expert is a member-led educational series from the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce. Each session allows a Chamber member to share useful expertise in an approachable\, practical format. This month\, our host is Brad Pluth\, PGA Master Professional at Dick's House of Sport. Jimmy John's lunch will be provided for attendees.Golf is one of the few remaining settings that hands business people four uninterrupted hours with someone they want to know better. Most of that time gets spent on scores\, swing talk\, and weather. The outing is enjoyable\, and by Monday nothing has changed in the relationship. The root cause is not the format of the event. It is that nobody plans the conversation. Everyone plans the tee times\, the format\, the food\, and the prizes. The part that determines whether the day produces anything lasting is left to chance. This session teaches the Assess\, Align\, Design framework from my book Purposeful Conversations: Family Connection Through Golf. What attendees will take away:How to prepare for a round with a business objectiveConversation frameworks that deepen professional relationshipsDecision-making patterns that show up both on the course and in businessA simple system for follow-up that turns rounds into real business outcomes
